Arts & Crafts - Bed

The clean, simple lines of American “Arts & Crafts” design give this bed charm and style. The head and footboards come assembled with strong mortise and tenon joints throughout.

Like all Pacific Rim Woodworking beds, the Arts and Crafts are made from solid Pacific Coast Maple, sustainably harvested. The bed features a non-toxic, oil-based, hand-rubbed finish — or it can be ordered unfinished. The Arts & Crafts is available in either the “Platform” or “Boxspring” version. The Platform version has a strong slat platform that nicely supports a futon, foam, or innerspring mattress. The Boxspring version is is the usual choice for use with a boxspring/mattress set.

Like all “Platform”-version beds by Pacific Rim Woodworking, the Arts & Crafts beds come with a sturdy platform of closely spaced fir slats attached with jute webbing. This platform is bolstered by a center beam — in all except the twin-size beds. The King sizes use two center beams. Pictured at right is the Arts & Crafts with modified footboard. This footboard option, for the Platform version only, allows sitting on the foot of the bed.

Boxspring versions are a little different — using four separate slats as a platform to support the boxspring/mattress set. This platform is appropriately 5 1/4 inches lower to the floor. The Arts & Crafts bed at left is shown with a 19 inch boxspring/mattress set.
