Four-in-One Sleep System
With one alone, it's a twin bed. Add another, and you have a versatile system designed to meet your changing needs: separate twin beds, bunk beds, a trundle bed set, or the high/low beds. This versatility translates into value and fun for your family. Two Four-in-One beds can be quickly reconfigured into any of the four positions pictured below—without any tools. These versatile beds evolve with the changing needs of your children. All Pacific Rim Woodworking beds are crafted from solid Pacific Coast Maple, sustainably harvested. Each bed features a non-toxic, oil-based, hand-rubbed finish — or they can be ordered unfinished. | | | Bunk Beds Older kids love this classic configuration, and parents find the roomy lower bunk a perfect place for reading bedtime stories. Requires the Bunk Kit: ladder & guardrails. Though not pictured above, the Bunk Kit now comes with one full-length guardrail and one ladder-side guardrail per standards issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. | | Trundle Beds The space-saving trundle-bed is another alternative for younger children. The bottom bed slides to convert daytime play space into nighttime sleep space. The trundle bed uses two Four-in-One footboards with casters added. The loft bed is then created using the two headboards with the rails in the top most slots—allowing room for the trundle underneath. Requires the Trundle Kit: casters & rail extenders. The guardrails would be included as part of a Four-in-One complete set, or purchased separately in a Bunk Kit. | | | | | | | | High/Low Beds This whimsical arrangement is ideal for kids who are too young for bunk beds. Currently-shipping guardrails are now actually full-length on one side, and a bit shorter on the other side--leaving room for an entrance area. The guardrails would be included as part of a Four-in-One complete set, or purchased separately in a Bunk Kit. | | Twin Beds Older kids appreciate the sophistication and independence of the twin beds. The twin beds Visually the regular platform Classic & Arts & Crafts 4 in 1's are similar, mechanically they are different. The regular platform beds are not able to be turned into a 4 in 1 combination. The posts are different and side rails are have the inside ledger placed differently. | The Four-in-One Sleep System Available in “Arts & Crafts” and “Classic” Styles The Classic style is shown in the photos above. The photo at left shows the Arts & Crafts style. See: Arts & Crafts beds page for more photo examples of this style. The Pacific Rim Trundle Bed is also partially shown at left. | Fir-Slat Platform System Like all the “Platform-version” beds by Pacific Rim Woodworking, the Four-in-One Sleep System beds come with a strong sturdy platform of closely-spaced fir slats attached with jute webbing. It nicely supports a futon, foam, or innerspring mattress. The Four-in-One Sleep System is not available in a boxsprings version. | The Pacific Rim Trundle Bed The Pacific Rim Trundle Bed is a distinct and separate bed model from Pacific Rim Woodworking (not to be confused with the Four-in-One trundle-configuration above). The Pacific Rim Trundle Bed is not actually part of the the Four-in-One Sleep System—but it can be used with the system. It can also be used alone. However, it is designed to roll under any other Pacific Rim Woodworking platform bed. It is constructed of solid maple, of course, and comes with the slatted fir platform. It accepts a foam pad up to 35 1/2" X 70" with a maximum thickness of four inches. A bit narrower and shorter, the Pacific Rim Trundle Bed will fit neatly underneath all sizes and styles of Pacific Rim Woodworking beds—platform versions. It does not fit under the boxsprings versions. The Pacific Rim Trundle Bed at right is pictured under a Pacific Rim Maple Bed. It is also partially seen in the photo above. Since the trundle also fits under Four-in-One beds, it can be used for a “stack” of three beds, if desired! Overall dimensions: 9 1/8" height X 39 3/8" wide X 75" long. | | Beds are shown here with a nine-inch mattress. The Four-in-One beds are similar in appearance to regular twin beds of the Classic or Arts & Crafts bed lines. The Four-in-One beds have outside dimensions similar to regular twins and they use regular twin-sized mattresses. However, the Four-in-One beds have different posts, the headboards have extra rail slots for use in the higher configurations, and the side rails have the inside ledger placed differently. Regular twin beds can not be converted into the special Four-in-One combinations. The "Complete Set" is two twin beds, plus the Bunk Kit (full-length guardrail, ladder-side guardrail, ladder) and the Trundle Kit (casters and rail extenders).
